Valley of the Drwęca river is an area in the central-northern part of the Chełmińsko-Dobrzyńskie Lake District. The extremely long (approx. 100 km) valley with the winding Drwęca river is ideal for hiking and cycling. Also a relatively easy and picturesque canoe trail is available. Canoeing begins in Golub-Dobrzyń and finishes at our sister hotel ‒ Osada Karbówko.

The Chopin Centre in Szafarnia is a cultural institution which was established to commemorate the stay of young Fryderyk Chopin in 1824 and 1825 in the area. It is not only a place to store old memories and memorabilia – Szafarnia also provides creative space to develop talents of the younger generation of pianists.

The Chopin Centre principally organizes concerts and exhibitions. It is housed in a nineteenth-century palace of an eclectic style and is surrounded by a historic park.

The first mention of the village Golub was found in a document from 1258. Earlier, in 1231, the Chełmno land was occupied by the Teutonic Knights who in 1296-1306 built the castle on the hill.

Golub-Dobrzyń is famous for many valuable monuments. The Old Town from the turn of the thirteenth and fourteenth century, St. Catherine Gothic Church in Golub and St. Catherine Classicist Church in Dobrzyń, neo-Gothic Protestant Church and defensive walls are only some places worth sightseeing.
